Terms & Conditions

Important information should be clear and easy to review.

Last updated: 29 August 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of aidvio.org and any donation you choose to make through an Aidvio campaign. Please read the relevant campaign page, these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund & Monthly Cancellation Policy before donating.

1. About Aidvio

Aidvio is a humanitarian support initiative that publishes fundraising campaigns and provides access to secure online donation methods. Aidvio does not claim to be a registered charity, and donations should not be assumed to be tax-deductible, unless verified registration and tax information is expressly published on the website.

2. Accepting these Terms

By accessing the website or submitting a donation, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the donation service.

3. Campaign information

We aim to present campaign information carefully, respectfully, and in good faith using the information available to us. Needs, costs, timelines, beneficiary circumstances, and delivery conditions can change. Unless expressly stated, campaign descriptions and estimates are not guarantees of a particular result.

We may correct, update, pause, close, or remove a campaign when facts change, information cannot be verified, consent is withdrawn, a safety issue arises, or continued publication is no longer appropriate.

4. Who may donate

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian, and you must be legally authorised to use the selected payment method. You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate another person.

5. Making a donation

  • Donations are voluntary. Review the full campaign and choose an amount only when you feel informed and ready.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Aidvio does not receive or store your full card number or card security code.
  • Your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may apply exchange rates, international charges, or other fees.
  • A donation is treated as successful only after the payment provider confirms it as paid.
  • Do not send card details, passwords, or one-time verification codes through Aidvio messages or contact forms.

6. One-time and monthly donations

The payment form will show whether you are selecting a one-time or recurring donation. A monthly donation may be charged automatically at the displayed interval until it is cancelled. Review the frequency and amount before confirming payment.

To request cancellation of future monthly charges, contact us promptly through the Contact Us page and provide the payer name, payer email, and Stripe receipt or payment reference. Never send full card details. Cancellation stops future eligible charges; it does not automatically refund charges already completed.

7. Use of funds and changed circumstances

Funds are intended to support the needs, activities, or outcomes described on the selected campaign page, including reasonable payment, transfer, delivery, logistics, verification, and operational costs where applicable or disclosed.

If the original need becomes impossible, unsafe, fully met, or materially changed, remaining funds may, where lawful and reasonable, be applied to a closely related need, recovery activity, or beneficiary support consistent with the campaign’s humanitarian purpose. We aim to explain material changes through campaign updates when appropriate and safe.

8. Receipts and tax treatment

Stripe may display a payment confirmation or send a receipt depending on the information supplied and the connected account settings. A payment receipt is not a tax certificate. You are responsible for checking the tax treatment of a donation in your own country.

9. Refunds and payment disputes

Completed donations are generally final, subject to applicable law and the circumstances described in our Refund & Monthly Cancellation Policy. If you believe a payment was duplicated, unauthorised, or made in error, contact us promptly so it can be reviewed.

10. Prohibited use

You must not use the website to:

  • commit fraud, attempt an unauthorised payment, or misuse another person’s identity or payment method;
  • upload or transmit malicious code or interfere with website security;
  • scrape, copy, or republish beneficiary content in a harmful, misleading, or exploitative way;
  • make false statements about Aidvio, a campaign, a donor, or a beneficiary; or
  • use the website in violation of applicable law.

We may restrict access, preserve records, or report suspected misuse when reasonably necessary to protect users, beneficiaries, the website, or the public.

11. Intellectual property and respectful use

Website branding, original text, layout, and media are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Some campaign media may belong to beneficiaries, contributors, or licensors. You may share a public campaign link, but you may not remove context, imply endorsement, exploit a person’s image, or reuse protected material without permission.

12. Third-party services and links

The website may link to Stripe, Meta, or other independent services. Their availability, processing, and privacy practices are governed by their own terms. Aidvio is not responsible for a third party’s independent service, outage, decision, or security practice.

13. Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep the website accurate and available, but it may occasionally be interrupted, delayed, or contain an error. To the extent permitted by law, the website and campaign information are provided without a promise that every objective, timeline, or estimate will be achieved. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Aidvio will not be responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from use of the website, a third-party service, exchange-rate movement, or circumstances outside reasonable control. Any liability that cannot legally be limited remains unaffected.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when our services, campaigns, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised version will be posted here with an updated date. The Terms in effect when a donation is made will ordinarily govern that transaction, subject to mandatory law.

16. Contact

For a question about these Terms, a campaign, or a donation, use the Aidvio Contact Us page.
